How it all started In 1959 Donald French founded Island Press in Bermuda, the island’s first web offset printing press. That spirit of innovation still flourishes today as we boldly exploit the infinite potential of the Internet. Our web portals connect large numbers of consumers and clients in ways we could only have dreamed of when we started out. In 1994 we evolved into Island Press (Holdings) Limited and further expansion saw us rebranded as MediaHouse Limited in 2005. We are headquartered in the Donald French Building in Hamilton, Bermuda and our managers and their teams in eleven countries share a commitment to excellence in customer service.
What’s our purpose? All of our businesses are about people: they serve consumers, advertisers, clients, governments and communities. MediaHouse subscribes to the notion of corporate responsibility and the need to stimulate not only economic growth but social progress, too. Our newspaper in Bermuda, for example, is renowned for political independence and its role in the maturation of the island’s democracy. We meet the goals of advertisers and clients through exemplary customer service; satisfy consumers by heightening their awareness of products, services and events — and bolster communities by facilitating trade and improving standards of living. We also enrich knowledge about the countries in which we operate by providing information about governments, local customs, culture and commerce. |
